I'm an aspiring writer from Poland, living in the UK for over 5 years. By trade, I'm a translator and interpreter, professionally dealing with words for 30+ years, and my command of English is on a near-native level.

Well - guilty as charged, I have indeed committed a book 😀

In Polish, obviously - but I managed to find enough time to translate it into English. The book is going to be issued in print in Poland some time in October.

And currently, I'm facing a dilemma:

I've found out that it is possible to self-publish my book on multiple platforms. I watched a vid uploaded by a certain man, who claims that he has been very successful at this. The video was rather long, and included lots of details and "strategic moves", plus a great deal of marketing advice. And I got lost along the way; I decided that I wouldn't be able to tackle all the intricacies involved.

Later on, I stumbled upon some companies that offer services in this field; namely, taking care of all the logistics and marketing. For a fee, naturally, which I can luckily afford. And I took a closer look at a few of them, paying special attention to their TrustPilot rankings. And I chose one to cooperate with.

Meanwhile, I did some intense research, and I came across some posts that sounded quite sombre; that there are zillions of books published on Amazon and similar platforms, and they don't really sell, as those service providers care only about getting their fees paid, and don't give a rat's butt afterwards.

And then I spotted another entity (on FB, like in all the aforementioned cases), which offers a free webinar aimed at attracting agents, who would subsequently find mainstream publishers looking for fresh blood. However, the condition is that manuscripts taken into consideration must NOT have been published.

Forgive my being a tad verbose; after all I'm an (aspiring) writer 😀 What's your take on this, ladies and gentlemen? I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, and provide any further information you may require. I'll take your advice with all due humility; thank you in advance 🙂
