At winter desiccation

early tears frost.

Hibernating memory sours

and matures 

in febrile fermentation

to await blades

of wan sunlight.

In that favoured hour

glacial mirrors puncture.

Leaden tides rear

barreling in relentless momentum

toward nemesis.
